The long awaited battle for volleyball supremacy in the Big Rivers Conference for the 2024 Season will take place tonight at 7pm at Hudson High School. Long time rivals the Hudson Raiders and the River Falls Wildcats will meet tonight with a storied history between the two schools that goes back many years in multiple sports. Last Friday the Hudson Raiders football team scored a dominating win over the Wildcats at Raider Stadium to claim the “Little Brown Jug” for the 2nd consecutive season. Back on September 19th the Raiders scored a 3-1 Boys Soccer win over the Wildcats in River Falls. Tonight Volleyball takes center stage with an excellent matchup between two teams having excellent seasons. The perennial power River Falls team (23-5) has been the team to beat in BRC volleyball for the last 10+ years and has taken the Sectional Championship and gone to the State Tournament 7 times in the last 8 years. Hudson (22-0) is having perhaps it’s best season ever and is ranked #5 in the latest D1 poll. Last season River Falls beat Hudson twice including the Sectional Semi-Final game which ended Hudson’s season. The Raiders and Wildcats met earlier this season at the UW Stout Sprawl Tournament with Hudson claiming the win, 2-0, beating River Falls for the first time in 9 years. The winner of the game tonight will be the favorite to claim the BRC Championship and the favorite to get the #1 seed in the upcoming Section playoffs that start later this month. We will have live broadcast coverage of this highly anticipated game tonight starting at 6:30 on www.HudsonBroadcasting.com
